Baby Cocktails’ Heady Topper is a knitting pattern for a fabulous hat
for him or her. Bold cables and garter stitch create a strong texture. The contrast
between the cable and background stitches made for a striking transition
into crown shaping. It is a quick knit and an easy to memorize motif. The hat
is knit in the round from the brim to the crown. The cable pattern is
charted and written out.
Finished Measurements: 17½ (20, 23)” circumference and 10¾” deep from cast-on edge to crown with brim unfolded 9” deep with the brim folded.
Yarn Requirements: 175 (200, 225) yards of worsted weight yarn such as Berroco Ultra Wool (100% Superwash Wool; 100g/219yds)

US 6 (4.00mm) 16” circular
US 7 (4.50mm) 16” circular and DPNs
Gauge:
22 sts and 28 rnds = 4” in cable pattern on US 7 (4.50mm)
22 sts and 28 rnds = 4” in ribbing on US 6 (4.00mm)
