Bead Your Knitting - Tilda Mittens - V- Winter 2026

These beautiful beaded mittens will add a touch of glamour to staying warm and cozy! Together we will learn a lined double cuff, best practices for how to make a thumb gusset, and everything you need to know to add beads to your knitting in several ways.

Format: Virtual

Prerequisite: Knitting II
Materials Required:

Tilda Mitten Pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tilda-mittens-2

YARN: 96 (130-176-240) yards of heavy worsted or aran weight yarn in Main Color (MC) and 50 (65-88-120) yards in Contrasting Color (CC).

NEEDLES: #5 US double pointed needles (or your preferred method for small circumference knitting) or size to get a gauge of 5.5 stitches per inch.Second set of needles in the same or I size smaller size.

OTHER MATERIALS:

Approx. 70 (98-98-128) size “5/0”  aka "E" glass seed beads It is strongly suggested that you purchase more beads than are necessary to account for unusable or broken ones. Some online sources for this size beads are:

"Steel" crochet hook small enough to fit into your beads

Barber cord/ stitch saver cord at least 10 inches long

Stitch markers, Tapestry needle to weave in ends
