ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Botanist Hat features simple cables that flow out of the beginning rib and continue through the decreases to the very top of the crown. Cables evoke the shoots and growth of climbing vines in a garden or forest. The five sizes use the same number of cast on stitches and follow the same directions – the only difference is the gauge of the yarn used and the number of beginning ribbing rows completed!

To Fit: 38 (43, 48, 53.5, 58.5) cm head circumference
Finished Measurements: 32.5 (38, 41, 46, 51) cm circumference

Yarn: 100 m Fingering (100 m Sport, 120 m DK, 130 m Worsted, 140 m Aran) weight
Needles: 2.75 mm (3.50 mm, 4.00 mm, 4.50 mm, 5.00 mm)
Other materials: 3 markers (one of them unique), dpn or cn for cables, tapestry needle

Baby: 28 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm
Toddler: 24 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm
Child: 22 sts and 24 rows = 10 cm
Adult S: 20 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm
