ABOUT THE PATTERN
The simple texture of the Daphne cowl mimics the delicate yet sophisticated bark of a laurel tree. In Greek mythology, Daphne’s father turns her into a laurel tree to save her from Apollo. I originally named this cowl after Groot since the texture reminded me of my favorite houseplant-slash-muscle from the Guardians of the Galaxy.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 220 yards Worsted weight yarn
Sample cowl knit in 100% worsted wool and used just under 100 g or 220 yards.
Needles: Size US 7 [4.50 mm] (or size to get gauge) 16” [40 cm] circular
Notions: 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle
GAUGE
20 sts and 24 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Pattern after blocking
