Falling Leaves: Crocheted Motifs - IP - Fall 2025

Crochet offers both knitters and crocheters many options for pretty and unique embellishments, as well as decorative objects in their own right. We'll sample mini projects of botanical objects with an Autumn theme in a variety of yarn weights and fibers. We'll look at charts and how they apply to these types of motifs. Most students will leave class with completed leaves in different styles, and an acorn or two. Written instructions and resources for future creations will be provided. Students will gain experience in creating uniquely constructed crocheted motifs using familiar stitches in surprising ways, changing up yarn weights for different effects and combining colors for natural effects and/or for bold visual impact.

For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.

Format: In-person

Prerequisite: Crochet II OR have a good understanding of the anatomy of chains, single, and double crochet stitches, and the concept of working into front and back loops only of a stitch.
Materials Required:

Locking Stitch markers

Tapestry needle

Sizes 2.25 (size B) and 3mm (which has no letter size) crochet hooks are recommended.  2.75 (size C)and a 3.25 (size D) will also work.

Instructor will provide kits with the small amounts of yarn needed for an additional materials fee tbd (no more than $20)

HOMEWORK:

If you have not crocheted in a while, please practice chain, single, half-double, and double crochet stitches before the first class meeting

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
