*This class fulfills the Fearless Finishing Requirement for WEKP.

If you have knitted a sweater or two but still don’t feel in control of the finishing process, this class is for you. Working on a baby sweater and swatches, you will conquer basic invisible seaming and (if time allows) move on to seaming ribbing and garter stitch. You will learn to pick up stitches flawlessly, master the sloped bind-off, and use the 3-needle bind-off. You will learn to make and space buttonholes and to calculate short rows for a cute shawl collar. Come join us and get rid of those finishing phobias!

You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

Format: Virtual

Prerequisite: Knitting II, or equivalent. Students must be familiar with knitting on a circular

needle.
Materials Required:

• Seven Things That Can “Make or Break” a Sweater, by Margaret E. Fisher (15% discount)
•At least 450 yards of a superwash yarn that gives you a gauge of 4.5 sts/inch and makes a fabric you like (Valley Superwash is great!).
• Size US 7 needles (or size needed to obtain gauge of 4.5 sts and 6 rows = 1”)
 • Size US 5 circular needle, 24” length (or needle two sizes smaller than the one you used to get gauge)
 • Buttons to be chosen with instructor’s guidance
 • Knit and Crochet Tool Kit
HOMEWORK:

1) Knit and block a 6” x 6” stockinette swatch, changing needle size until you obtain the gauge you need for this project. Please measure and record your swatch’s gauge before and after blocking.

When possible, please buy your materials from WEBS.

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
