Product Details
My parents were young in the 1930s and 40s when a lot of songs were silly. When I was a child we sang a number of the hits from their youth in the car during our summer vacations. One of my favorites has always been the whimsical little song, Mairzy Doats. The stitch pattern used for this sock is an adaptation of the ivy pattern, which naturally reminded me of the trips we used to take, filled with sunshine and silly songs—this silly song in particular, because of the end of the refrain: “...and little lambs eat ivy.” Sock is worked from the cuff down. It has a standard slip-stitch heel flap, and grafted toe.
