Give Overshot a Shot - Summer 2024

Weaving an overshot pattern can be intimidating for newer weavers.  It looks complicated but we will walk through how to understand this fascinating weaving structure.  We will begin by defining the structure and learning the threading patterns used in Overshot drafts.  There will be an opportunity to do some threading of a loom to set up an overshot structure and also weave on looms already warped with overshot patterns for you to try.  At the end of the class, we will cut the samples off and distribute each student’s work to take home. This class is appropriate for beginning weavers, but some experience weaving on a rigid heddle or floor loom is recommended. Please note this class includes a 1-hour lunch break.

For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.

Materials Required:

A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the start of class

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
