Brioche knitting projects are everywhere! Seize the day and learn how to knit 2-color brioche, in the round to create a reversible cowl. The brioche stitch produces a lofty, ridged fabric that resembles the (knit 1, purl 1) rib stitch. Knit in Valley Yarns Hitchcock, this cowl is soft and luxurious, and a perfect knitted gift for a special someone (or a treat for you)! In this class you will learn all the basic techniques involved in brioche knitting in the round including how to read a brioche pattern, how to count rows, how to count stitches, and how to identify and fix common mistakes. Students must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work basic stitch patterns with combinations of knits and purls, and follow written instructions.
You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

Materials Required:
- 2 skeins Valley Yarns Hitchcock (or yarn of equivalent gauge): 1 skein in Main Color (MC) and 1 skein in Contrast Color (CC).
- US 8, 16” circular needles (Please note: a 24" needle will not work for this project)
- Stitch marker
- Waste yarn
- Tapestry needle.
- Optional: US 9, 16” circular needles for casting on and binding off.
Homework:
- In preparation for class, with MC, cast on 78 sts using the Long Tail Cast On. If you used a larger needle to cast on, transfer your sts to the smaller needles. If you tend to cast on tightly, use a US 9, 16” for casting on; then transfer your sts to the smaller needles for class.
When possible, please buy your materials from WEBS.
Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is canceled by WEBS. or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
