Master Short Rows - Luna Park Hat* - Winter/Spring 2024

*This class fulfills the Master Short Rows Requirement for WEKP.

We will learn 4 different ways of working short rows and knit a sampler with them before tackling the Luna Park Hat, which uses short rows to shape it. We will also learn 2 ways to work a provisional cast on, as well as Kitchener Stitch (aka Grafting) to finish the hat. All techniques will be taught in class so no previous experience in these techniques is necessary.

Format: Virtual

Materials Required: 

Please purchase the Luna Park Hat pattern
200 - 250 yards worsted or heavy worsted weight yarn (depending on size chosen)
An additional skein of light colored worsted weight yarn for class practice and short row sampler
Size US 7/4.5mm needles - straights or 16” circular needles used as straights
Your Knitters Tool Kit
For the provisional cast on: Several yards smooth cotton worsted weight yarn
Size G crochet hook
1 long plastic knitting stitch holder cord aka Barber Cord at least 28 inches long or longer
