Math for Knitters* - V- Summer 2025

*This class fulfills the Math for Knitters Requirement for WEKP.

Math can be fun, especially for knitters who want to be in control of their work. In this class,we’ll discuss the nitty-gritty of knitting gauge, and we’ll play with percentages and pattern-stitch numbers to make sizing adjustments for those times you simply can’t get gauge on the perfect yarn for the perfect project. We’ll also talk about yarn-substitution arithmetic and adding simple shaping to garments. Ind if there is time, we’ll experiment with other knitting number-magic. At the end of the course, you’ll have some new math tools for your knitting skills kit, and you’ll be ready to play with, not by, the numbers on your next project!

You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

Format: Virtual

Materials Required:

-        Paper and pen for taking notes

-        Calculator

If you'd like to adjust a pattern of your own, please bring it and we'll take a look if we have time.

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
