*This class fulfills the Mittens and Socks from Measurements Requirement for WEKP.
In this class, you will complete a pair of mittens and a pair of socks to your own measurements, and at your own gauge, using a tried-and-true formula. By the end of the class, you will be able to make mittens and socks for everyone you know and be sure they will fit. Please note: This class is designed for knitters who are already comfortable using double-pointed needles and is not designed for circular needles.
You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

Prerequisite: Knitting 2
Materials Required:
For Mittens –

200-300 yds of worsted weight yarn.
One set of dpns in an appropriate size for your yarn, plus a smaller size if you'd like a tighter ribbing.
A flexible measuring tape and a rigid ruler
For Socks:

DK or worsted weight yarn. Please purchase the amount of yarn that matches your foot size: Women - DK 350 yards,
Worsted 300 yards, Men - DK 400 yards, Worsted 300 yards.
A set of dpns in a size appropriate for your yarn.
2 spools of reinforcing thread.

HOMEWORK:
For Class 6 Please make 4 of the following swatches –
Using worsted weight yarn in a light color CO 20 sts.
Rows 1 – 4: Knit for a garter stitch edge
Then work in Stockinette Stitch (Knit the right side rows, purl the wrong side rows) for 2 inches
Do not bind off, just leave stitches live on scrap yarn or barber cord

registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS,
or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
