*This class fulfills the Design Exploration Requirement for WEKP.
Together we will design cowls, scarves and neck warmers, learning about all aspects of their constructions, studying traditional shapes and unique alternatives. We will study the different types of edgings and bodies, the impact of increases and decreases on knitted fabric, learn the math formulas that help determine shaping, how to figure out gauge for hard to measure patterns, and even touch briefly on how to size our designs into different sizes in order to make them fit whomever we want to make them for. Appropriate for those looking to design knitted neckwear patterns professionally as well as for those just wanting to design them for their friends and family, students will walk out of the final class with at least one finished original design (and most likely several), plus an understanding of how to make more!
You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.
