Nina Machlin Dayton’s Ogival Hat is a lovely hat inspired by
Ogival Arches, the pointed arches so popular in Gothic architecture. This
unisex hat can have the brim turned up as a watch cap or left down, turning the
hat into a slouch. The classic lines soar from brim to crown, converging at the
top. Ogival is knit in the round from the bottom up.
Sizes: S (M, L) to fit head sizes 20 (22, 24)”
Yarn Requirements: 210 (230, 250) yards of sport/DK weight yarn such as Malabrigo Caprino (80% Super Fine Merino/ 20% Cashmere; 50g/164yds)
Needles: US 2½ (3.00mm) 16” circular and DPNs
Gauge: 22 sts and 36 rows = 4”, after blocking
