Beads sparkle like tears running down the textured reverse stockinette and beaded picot edging of the Teardrops Cowl by Nina Machlin Dayton. In either a smaller or larger circumference, this cowl will add a little bit of glamour to your winter while keeping you warm and toasty.

Size: S (L), 20 (24)” circumference
Yarn: About 130 (195) yards DK weight yarn. The samples in this pattern were made out of madelinetosh Merino DK (WEBS does not carry), Malabrigo
Silky Merino (blue small), and madelinetosh tosh DK (green large)
Beads: 162 (242) size 5/0 or “E” or size 6/0 seed beads. The samples show use 5/0 which are slightly bigger than the more common 6/0. You can use 6/0 beads, however the result will be slightly less sparkly than the samples shown in the pattern photographs
Needles: Size US 5 circular needle with a 16” cord, or size needed to get gauge; crochet hook small enough to fit into your beads, tapestry needle for weaving in ends, beading needle (big eye needle) to help with pre-stringing beads.
Gauge: 22 stitches to 4” in teardrop pattern. Differences in gauge will impact the finished size of the neckwarmer and the yardage used, but are not crucial to fit
