Pattern Workshop: Meditation Shawl with Mary Ann Gebhardt S1- V- Spring/Summer 2026

*This class fulfills the Knitting Elective Requirement for WEKP.

Discover the healing rhythm of knitting and crocheting with Mary Ann.

Each class is a centering practice — an invitation to slow down, breathe, and release stiffness as we gently bring awareness to the muscles we rely on most when we knit and crochet. We’ll explore simple, supportive movements that encourage comfort and flow, while Tibetan singing bowls help create a deeply calming atmosphere.

As you settle in, the rhythm of your stitches becomes a meditation. We’ll close with yoga-inspired movements that naturally ease into quiet reflection while you knit your shawl (or any project you have on hand), allowing your mind to rest and your body to feel nourished.

We’ll be exploring a shawl knitting  pattern. Choose colors you’re drawn to — something you’ll love wrapping around yourself like a hug. I’ll be introducing a knitting shawl, but you’re always welcome to bring a project you’re already working on.I look forward to seeing you on Zoom — cultivating patience, compassion, and happiness through mindful knitting and crocheting.

You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

Format: Virtual

Prerequisite: Knitting II, or equivalent.
Materials Required:

Gauge is not crucial; any worsted-weight yarn, approximately 500–600 yards. (The flexibility of the pattern will be discussed in the first class).

Needle sizes:

• US 8 (5.0 mm)

• US 7 (4.5 mm)

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
