Photography for Weavers - Summer 2024

In this 2 hour workshop, professional photographer Gale Zucker will lead you through the process of creating and editing beautiful photographs that tell the story of your weaving. She will share tips and techniques for using your iphone/smartphone to produce eye catching imagery from your materials and tools to your process and your finished pieces. The class will be both a slide talk and hands on, with participants making images and trying new ideas. We will cover choosing backgrounds, props, composition, working with light and posing. We will work with the secret sauce that makes images pop: In Phone Photo Editing. We will discuss how to adjust and optimize images to truly represent your making and create images that get attention in both social media and for applying to juried shows. Gale

will live demo this part of the workshop using a powerful and user friendly app, available for both IOS and Android.

For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.

Materials Required:

• Have your smartphone/iphone fully charged, and updated.

• Please download the Snapseed App. If you already have Snapseed in your phone, please check to see if there

are updates.

• Make sure there is space in your phone for the creation and storage of new images.

• Bring some materials (small) and a project to practice on.

* This class is taught with the assumption that the students are using their iPhones/Smartphone cameras. The

photography concepts apply to DSLR too for those who wish to use a traditional camera.

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
