The Reekalf Turkish Spindle from Snyder Spindles is handmade from black walnut or maple. The arms measure 3.5" and the shaft is 6" long. The shafts have a small finial at the top to hold the half hitch. The "Reekalf" (Dutch for fawn) Turkish spindle weighs 0.8-0.9 oz (22–26g).
Turkish spindles have the unique advantage of creating a cop that doubles as a center-pull ball or plying ball! The shaft and arms slide out of place once you’ve finished spinning, leaving both ends of your singles free.
