Spinning for Knitting - ()

Spinning for Knitting

Why are my mittens two different sizes? If you've tried knitting with your handspun yarn and been less than thrilled, this workshop is for you. We'll cover what to aim for in a good knitting yarn and what kinds of fibers and yarns are suited for different types of projects. We'll discuss ways to increase consistency in your final project and how to determine how much fiber to buy and how much yarn to spin. We'll do a little spinning and swatching and look at what our swatches can tell us about planning your final project.

Prerequisite: You should be able to spin a continuous single and understand the basics of your spinning wheel.
