Wondering how to spin the perfect yarn for your next weaving project? Planning it out from the raw fiber to the finished fabric, we will discuss the different fibers and wool breeds, their strength, texture, and ideal twist for the desired result, with a bit of drafting practice to build confidence in your techniques. Warp your loom with handspun that will become the weaving your imagination desires! Sharing samples and inspiration for many different types of loom, from floor to rigid heddle, or even tapestry weaving, this lecture style class will help you show off the special quality of your handspun yarns.
For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.
Format: In-Person
Materials Required:
Bring
a notebook, and a spindle or small portable wheel or e-spinner of your choice
in working order, and please be comfortable spinning a continuous yarn, there
will be a brief drafting practice session
When possible, please buy your materials from WEBS.
Cancellation
Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of
registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS,
or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
