Product Details
Travel back to the 11th century and bring history to life—one stitch at a time. In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn how to embroider a motif inspired by the legendary Bayeux Tapestry, a nearly 1,000-year-old masterpiece that tells the story of the Norman conquest of England. We’ll start with a brief overview of the tapestry’s fascinating history, its cultural significance, and the techniques used by the original embroiderers. Then, using simple stitches and traditional wool threads on linen, you’ll create your own small section or motif drawn directly from the tapestry’s rich imagery.
No
prior embroidery experience is necessary. You’ll leave class with a completed
(or nearly completed) embroidered piece, a deeper appreciation for medieval art
and storytelling, and the skills to continue your embroidery journey at home.
All materials will be provided. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to
try something new!
You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual
class.
