Product Details
Tamara Moot’s Aurora Hat uses simple knit, purl, and basic cables to evoke the lovely glimmers and twists of dawn’s first light in the dark. The three sizes use the same number of cast-on stitches and follow the same directions—the only difference is the gauge of the yarn used and the number of beginning ribbing rows completed! The cable pattern is charted and written out.
Sizes: Child (Adult S, Adult L)
Finished Measurements: 18¼ (20, 22¼)” circumference
Yarn Requirements:
Child – 130 yards of DK weight yarn such as Berroco Vintage DK (50% Acrylic/40% Wool/10% Nylon; 100g/288yds) shown in 2104 Mushroom
Adult S – 150 yards of worsted weight yarn such as Berroco Vintage (50% Acrylic/40% Wool/10% Nylon; 100g/217yds) shown in 5105 Oak
Adult L – 170 yards Aran weight yarn such as Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted (85% Wool/15% Mohair; 4oz/190yds) shown in Mahogany (WEBS don’t carry this color)
Needles:
Child – US 6 (4.00mm) 16” circular and DPNs
Adult S – US 7 (4.50mm) 16” circular and DPNs
Adult L – US 8 (5.00mm) 16” circular and DPNs
Gauge:
Child – 22 sts and 28 rows = 4” in the pattern, after blocking
Adult S – 20 sts and 24 rows = 4” in the pattern, after blocking
Adult L – 18 sts and 22 rows = 4” in the pattern, after blocking
