Tamara Moots Starry Night Cowl is knit with
simple increases and decreases to draw groups of stitches into soft, undulating
curves to evoke the wild beauty of the dense clouds of gas and dust in our
night sky. Tamara named this cowl Starry Night because the curves also reminded
her of the swirls in Van Gogh’s Starry Night. The lace pattern is charted and written out.
Sizes: Short (Long)
Finished Measurements:
Short – 22” circumference and 7” tall
Long – 35” circumference and 7” tall
Yarn Requirements: 180 (200 yards of worsted weight yarn such as Malabrigo Rios (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds) shown in Azul Profundo
Needles: US 7 (4.50mm) 16–24” circular
Gauge: 18 sts and 22 rows = 4” in lace pattern, after blocking
