Product Details
*This class fulfills the Non-Knitting Elective / Wild Card Elective Requirement for WEKP.
Weaving with two heddles (reeds) is a LOT easier than it looks! The instructor has discovered a simplified way to thread the heddles, making it easy and far less intimidating than it appears in books and magazines. Keeping the tension even with all those threads is the key. Learn how to make your own tensioning device.
In this class, we focus on a fascinating thick-and-thin weft technique (Rep Weave), which works beautifully for tableware. (If you took the October two-heddle workshop, this runner will make a great companion piece to your napkins. You may even use your leftover three cones of 8/2 cotton.) Students will dress their looms in class and learn the weaving technique while working at their own pace. The runner is then finished at home.
Please note: This is not a refresher class; students must be able to thread their looms (one reed) independently.
For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.
