Product Details

This class is intended for those who have never knit before. Beginning knitters will learn a variety of basic techniques: the long tail cast-on, knit and purl stitches, and a simple bind-off. Gauge, what it is and how to make a gauge swatch, is also covered. Other topics include fixing mistakes, reading ball bands, and understanding yarn weights. The instructor will demonstrate techniques and there will be lots of opportunities to ask questions. You'll receive a skein of yarn and straight needles to get you started and a PDF handbook for you to download and print.

For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and are available upon request.

Materials Required:

  • Yarn and needles will be provided to students. The class booklet will be sent as a PDF attachment in the class reminder email. Please print and download the PDFs for this class
  • Knitter's Tool Kit
  • Additional yarn may be purchased with the help of the instructor
  • Required Text: Knitter's Dictionary by Kate Atherley

When possible, please buy your materials from WEBS.

Cancellation Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is canceled by WEBS, or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
