When I looked at reviews about this yarn, I wanted to know how it compared to my favorite, Rowan Kidsilk Haze. I didn't see explicit feedback so I took a chance on it. I write this because you might be curious, too. It's 10% less $ than KSH, not accounting for WEBS' amazing discounts, too. HERE GOES: It has a similar ratio kid mohair to silk (76/24%) but it's 'super' kid. Frankly, I have no idea if that's just puffery, but I will say it FEELS softer than KSH, in skein and in final knit. It has a terrific, delicate haze, with more hairy/fuzziness than KSH and it adds the amazing lushness I get with KSH. The colors available are not duplicates of KSH but there are some you could sub in for KSH colors in a pinch. DB Angel colors have a depth and complexity that makes it look similarly sophisticated. I have used it on numerous swatches and in a garment project, a loose kimono style open cardigan. AND LOVE IT.
It does grab onto itself, so pointy needles are a must or you'll drop stitches. Frogging any significant amount will not be pleasant. But both are true of mohair yarns in general.

I just cannot say enough about this yarn. I've knit quite a number of multi-color Kaffe Fassett Rowan KSH projects and LOVE KSH, but am thrilled to have a yarn equally wonderful to rely on.

The color on this is awesome! I purchased the plum and it was exactly as shown. I was disappointed in that this was not very soft. I had to go up three needle sizes to get the proper gauge and the mohair still tended to mat more than I was willing to accept. I have three balls of this and plan to try using it for the Angel Shawl which is a pattern designed for this specific yarn. Too pretty to waste.

    Comments about 13.00 Angel:

This was a delight to knit with. Very soft and silky. Frogging is painful as the fibers tend to get caught in other rows and there's a small amount of ripping but my finished piece didn't show signs of having been abused in the few spots I frogged.

Am doubling this up with a cascade 220 to knit a pair of cable mittens. Works great to make a warm, soft garment and still shows the cable well.

I have used the yarn to knit the Lace Capelet by Brooke Nico. The yarn is beautiful, colors are lovely (the pink and sea). Sharp needles are a great help in knitting this yarn. Frogging is and tinking back are difficult because of the fiber halo of the yarn, but not impossible. I will use this yarn again.

I had hoped it would be close enough to finish a cardigan. I was gifted with mohair and unfortunately, I would have to use at least 6 strands of the angel to almost equal 1 strand of my 'gift'. Color was so close, too.

I wanted to "soften" the look of a particular yarn I was using in a Prayer Shawl I was making for a friend to blend the yarns better. It was perfect.

bought Angel to substitute for Classic Elite Piroette in a mosaic cowl pattern because I liked the color. It worked up like sewing thread and I had to double it with another yarn. Still, lovely color.
