Yarn is squishy and soft, nice to knit with and knits up quickly. I have not washed yet, so cannot comment. My real complaint is the color photos - I know monitors can be off, but I received multiple yarns in my last order and some were exactly as pictured. One was much lighter than pictured and the two colors of this yarn were much darker and duller than pictured. They are not bad colors, but the Blackberry is not a bright purple, but more what the name would suggest, a deep dull purple and the fuchsia is not a hot pink, but rather a dark dull magenta color. I'll use them, but they won't work for my intended project.

This yarn feels lovely on the ball. And it feels lovely as you are knitting, like plump velvet running through your fingers.

But... it is one of the worst-wearing yarns that I have ever beheld. Do not use it for anything that gets *any* abrasion (sweaters, mittens, socks, etc), as the yarn will stretch, pill, and look shabby nearly instantaneously. If you are knitting something large, then beware, you will watch your knitting age before your eyes. Ask me how I know. Sigh.

The only items for which I could recommend this yarn are hats and scarves. But what's the point of its superwash labeling? It seems reasonable that one can splurge on all sorts of luscious (hand-wash only) fibers for accessories that don't need frequent washing. So why would you choose this yarn above such others?

So, my conclusion is that this yarn is good for fondling and little else. Maybe appropriate for a scarf for someone who has no idea that wool comes from sheep, etc.

      Comments about 6.99 Cashmerino Aran:

I used this yarn in navy to make a fisherman's watch cap for my daughter. It knit up well and was soft, but after I finished it, I decided to hand wash it in cold water before I blocked it. Although I must've rinsed it six or seven times, the dye still ran. I'm glad I didn't use the yarn in a multi-colored pattern. I couldn't find any way to contact the Debbie Bliss company for a suggestion on how to correct it.

I wasn't crazy about this yarn. It tends to pill more.

        Comments about 6.99 Cashmerino Aran:

This is my go-to yarn for baby items. It is luxuriously soft, has nice stitch definition and can be machine washed (on gentle). The full range of colors is amazing, and many are unusual. The color "Silver," for instance, is almost a pale blue/aqua. Just gorgeous. A great yarn for Irish sweaters.

          Comments about 6.99 Cashmerino Aran:

I knitted a baby blanket in a 5 stitch basketweave pattern from Churchmouse, with a seed stitch border. This yarn shows textured stitch work nicely. The hand is soft and the weight is satisfying. The indigo color is very rich. I used Carbonz needles, and loved working with this yarn. (I find it is easier to knit with the metal tipped needles). The blanket turned out nicely, I'm sorry I did not take a picture of it- I gave it as a gift.

I've knit several baby hats & sweaters out of Cashmerino Aran, it's very soft. It's a pleasure to knit with and machine washes beautifully. I generally put items in the dryer for about 10 minutes and finish drying flat.

The colors were true to the website pictures - and very vibrant and evenly dyed. The yarn is soft and pliable, very easy to work with. I needed a worsted weight yarn soft enough to use for a baby hat - and this yarn was perfect.
