I loved the colors, though the color changes were more abrupt and less gradual than I thought they would be. I knitted it up into an Ishbel . The stitch definition in blocked lace is gorgeous. It is a little rough feeling on the hands, and while its fine for neck wear, I wouldn't use it on projects meant for prlonged skin contact

    Comments about 25.19 Ombre Lace:

The most important tip I would give is to make sure that you use a pattern that requires almost all the yardage of the skein. The beauty of this yarn is in the slow color changes as well as the contrast of the two colors. I used this Alberta Shawl pattern (small size) available for purchase on Ravelry and it came out beautifully. I've received so many compliments on it already.

        Comments about 25.19 Ombre Lace:

I have to stress that I have not knitted with this yet. I was disappointed with the feel of the yarn. It feels like a coarser wool which I was not expecting. The yarn is not cheap and even with realizing that I am also paying for the dye, I still feel that it should be a nicer quality of wool. Hoping that some hair conditioner will soften it up. I'm tempted to wash it before I knit with it.

I love the colors I bought. I'm currently knitting a shawl in South Beach. It wasn't as soft as I thought it would be. This is my first time working with her yarn.

              Comments about 25.19 Ombre Lace:

I use this yarn principally with solid fabric scarves that highlight the color gradient of the yarn. It also could be wonderful in a not-too-complicated lace pattern.

I find that if the repeats are too long for the project I am designing, I can remove sections from the middle of one or more colors, and the gradient is not affected. this makes for several segments of solid color yarn that could be used for embellishments (flowers, etc.)in sections of the accessory that would be coordinated in the colors of the piece.

              Comments about 25.19 Ombre Lace:

Bought 4 skeins of this from Webs and it has been in my stash. Recently used 2 skeins for lace scarves/wraps. I love this gradient yarn but found a join in each skein. When knitting lace this distresses me because joins are so much harder to hide in lace. The yarn is a little coarse but that doesn't bother me as it softened up some after blocking and I know that it will wear well. Just wish there were no joins.

              Comments about 25.19 Ombre Lace:

I'm using this yarn to knit a semicircular shawlette. My main stitch pattern is from Barbara Walker's Second Treasury of stitches, Fountain Lace, which intoduces a scallop to blend the colors. If it wasn't for the whopping 20% nylon content I would love this yarn. The Grapevine colorway is bolder than the first color I used (Lichen, in the all wool sportweight) and I'm enjoying the changing colors. I've read in reviews on RAVELRY that this yarn does soften up quite a bit after a good soak, so I'm hoping that's my experience.

The joins are lumpy but yielded to gentle wet splicing. I'll post pictures of both of the shawlettes after they're blocked to share the colors. Larger lace motifs or just at the edge show these long repeat yarns to great advantage.
