Product Details

Interested in learning to spin? Beginning with a drop spindle is a wonderful way to acquire the skill at your own pace, and this class will offer the foundation needed to love the yarn you make, even while you learn. Covering the different types of fiber available to modern spinners and their preparation, the drafting techniques used and the steps in the process of spinning, plying and setting, as well as how your choices at each step will impact the finished fabrics you make with your yarns. We will get spinning during the class and then ply what we've spun, going home with a hank ready to set and the confidence to spin with pleasure instead of frustration. The spindle's portability allows for continuous practice.

For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.
