Juniper Moon Farm Tenzing is a yarn as majestic as Mount Everest. Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, along with Sir Edmund Hilary, are recognized as the first people to have summited Mount Everest 60 years ago. Juniper Moon has created this brilliant yarn in honor of this momentous accomplishment. This soft, warm, sport weight yarn is a blend of extrafine merino and yak—an animal that continues to play an important role in the mountainous region surrounding and including Mount Everest. Exotic yak fiber contributes loft, warmth, and softness to yarn—it's also very smooth, so it's not itchy.

Knits up beautifully

Very soft but sturdy yarn. You really have to go out of your way to get a split.

lovely soft yarn

I haven't started knitting this yet but it seems to be very soft and lovely. Was looking for wool that would not itch and this one may be it.

Fantastic yarn

Comments about 6.49 Tenzing:

I bought this to make a pair of socks for myself. It's so soft and warm. Stitch definition is fantastic. We'll see how they wear compared with 100% merino. Ravelry users note it can grow a bit on blocking; I didn't notice that with the socks.

Coming back to write this review caused me to spend WAY too much money stocking up on more of this yarn!!!

This yarn is unbelieveably soft and warm. I think it may very well be my favorite wool yarn that I have ever worked with. I have never used a blend that included yak before and I am extremely impressed.
