This class is currently full. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-367-9327 to be put on the wait list.

Tunisian crochet uses a unique crochet technique and stitches to create knit-like finished fabrics. Learn the subtle differences in the construction of Tunisian stitches while developing your Tunisian pattern- and chart-reading skills. This is a techniques class, where we will swatch different stitch patterns to create samplers for future project reference.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Prerequisite: Crochet I or equivalent
Instructor: Heather McQueen
Date: Sundays, 2/18, 2/25, 3/4/2018
Time: 1:30pm–3:30pm
Materials Required:

  • 100 yards total of smooth, plain, light-colored worsted weight yarn in a minimum of 2 colors. Wool or wool blend or cotton/cotton blend are preferable. PLEASE DO NOT use single or chain ply yarns, black or very dark colors, white, or variegated yarns, flat tape-like yarns, novelty yarns, slubby yarns, or anything with a halo/fuzz such as mohair. These yarns make it very difficult for students to read their work while learning new stitches.
  • Stitch markers in two colors
  • Tapestry needle
  • US size 5mm Tunisian crochet hook (shorter cords, 16", are fine)
  • Your crochet tool kit

When possible, please buy your materials from WEBS.
