I use a lot of 8/2 cotton and have quite a collection that allows me to do double weave with lots of colors! I simple line up cones and switch them around until I like the combination.
I just finished my first inkle band and I was thrilled with how easy it was to do. I believe the 8/2 cotton yarn made the project go quickly and smoothly because it was so easy to work with, and I loved the colors, which were bright and eye catching. I would recommend using this yarn for inkle band projects.
I like working with 8/2 cotton yarn (and most of the Valley yarns), which is easy to obtain from WEB yarns, in terms of weight, size, and color.
Use this frequently for towels.
I LOVE Valley Yarn's 8/2 cotton yarn. They come on cones and have a huge color selection. I use them exclusively for weaving kitchen towels for friends and, well, myself, too. The cotton is unmercerized, so the towels come out absorbent and with a wonderful feel.
The turquoise 8/2 yarn had a knot or twist in one of the plies about every 10 to 15 feet. It resulted in a lot of wasted yarn when I was making a warp. I would not purchase it again.

The colors are beautiful. Using this for towels. I am quite happy! I really like the ply, it doesn’t untwist when working on my project.
