Beautiful Yarn
Loved this yarn! Very soft, good "sport" weight, bought it in four colors for spring/summer sweaters. I always appreciate a good quality vegan yarn.

For sweaters and hats. This yarn has a beautifull color palette, but it splits. I do not know if the other colors are the same as the dark blue one. I feel discouraged to finish my sweater. It has been a tedious labor to get below the arm holes. I gave it 3 stars for the color.

Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:
Very soft - knits up nicely. I used it to make a "Leaf Yoke Top", and the results were lovely. I was very pleased with this yarn. I actually had to rip the beginning part of the top out 4 times, because of errors I had made, (it was a tedious pattern) but the yarn held up beautifully. No evidence of wear and tear.

Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:
Wanted an easy-care, soft cotton yarn to substitute for a yarn that the Child's sweater pattern called for (which I did not care for).
This product fit the bill! The microfiber content makes the yarn softer and less heavy than cotton. The white is beautiful - snow white. Plus, it is machine washable, which a busy mom can appreciate. Stitch definition was fantastic, and I've attached a pic of the finished Child's Beach Hoodie to illustrate same.
The only drawback is that the yarn has a tendency to split (as does most cottons), so knitting requires attention. However, this yarn is nowhere near as splitty as other cottons I've used (such as the one I was substituting)!
I would definitely use again.

Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:
I have used this yarn to make a baby blanket and a woman's sweater vest. It handles a lot like 100% cotton yarn, which I generally do not enjoy using since the inelasticity of the cotton fiber means I have to knit really tightly. The microfiber adds some shine and softness. The colors are deeper than I've seen in pure cotton and coordinate well with each other (I've used white, aqua, electric blue, pale blue, and lime green together with good effect). Yarn construction is three 2-ply strands twisted loosely together. This looseness is part of the reason the finished fabric drapes so well. The three strands separate easily, which was a problem for me in the baby blanket only because I changed colors so often and had lots of unruly ends to work in. If you knit a solid color piece, like a sweater vest, this tendency to unravel will have little effect on your work. My finished projects were beautiful to look at, pleasing to touch, and worth the trouble.

Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:
I used Longmeadow to make a WEBS pattern called Flower Garden Ruffled Dress for a friend of mine's little girl. Longmeadow knit up great, it was a little bit splitty sometimes, but not too bad.
The finished dress is lovely, and I was totally happy using the Longmeadow.
My only request would be to add to the Longmeadow colour palette, and bring in some more jewel tone colours, and not assume we are using this yarn for summer knits only.

Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:
I live in a very hot climate and this is perfect for lightweight cardigans and shrugs. I added enough for three more sweaters to the stash. I wish there were more available colors, especially darks.

I made a Tunisian Crochet Entrelac baby blanket with Longmeadow using 6 different colors. The colors are rich and the feel is wonderful. I almost hated to give the blanket away!
