Spincycle Yarns' Dyed in the Wool is hand-dyed before it's spun, making the colors meet and part ways in stunning, unique combinations; the overall effect is of a balanced, seamless whole. Dyed in the Wool is a sport weight, machine-washable 100% superwash Blue Faced Leicester wool. The color transitions are slow and dramatic, and each skein is unique. When planning larger projects requiring more than one skein, allow for nuance. Suggested manufacturer's gauge range is 5–8 sts per inch on a US 2-7 needle, so be sure to make a gauge swatch before you start a project. Made in the USA

As lush in color as handspun by a master

Comments about 31.00 Dyed in the Wool:

I bought a skein of "Kimono" colorway when they were first experimenting and used it in a weaving. It is as variable and marvelous in its colors as actual handspun and the spinning in terms of thickness never got off track. I found a knot in one ply while I was winding a warp. I used the bit in weft by spit-placing—totally easy. I love this yarn. Yes, it is expensive, but if what you want is the look of wonderful hand spun two ply with lots of carefully balanced color changes—this is worth every penny! I am so happy to find it here and I will definitely use it again!

(I have to say I think it is unfair to give a bad rating to a yarn simply because you are not willing to spend that much. There are plenty of options at WEBS.I don't often buy cashmere because of the price, but I understand why it is pricey and it's my choice to weave with merino.)
