#83 Cabana Towel PDF
The Valley Yarns Cabana Towel Draft is made with Brassard Cottolin, which comes in a lovely range of colors to choose from that will fit any kitchen decor. Made on an 8-shaft loom, this stripy towel is reminiscent of rows of corn growing in a field.

Equipment: 8-shaft loom, 24” minimum width; reed, 1 shuttle, 1 bobbin
Warp Yarns: Brassard 8/2 cottolin (60% organic cotton/40% linen, 3,360 yds/lb, 1,680 yds per ½ lb tube) 1043 yds Peacock (C4616) and 1015 yds Vieil Or (C1418); 6 or 8 lb fishing line (see notes on ‘preparing the loom’).
Weft Yarns: Brassard 8/2 cottolin (60% organic cotton/40% linen, 3,360 yds/lb, 1,680 yds per ½ lb tube) 1264 yds Periwinkle (C5067); 90 yds cotton sewing thread in color to match weft.
Warp: To weave 2 towels: 3.5 yds of 588 ends (includes 2 floating selvedges).
Sett: 28 epi (2-3-2 in a 12-dent reed (preferred) or 3-4 in an 8-dent reed).
Dimensions: Width in reed:21” Finished size: 17 1/8” x 31 3/8”
P.P.I.: 28-29 in pattern. For the hems and border in imperfect plain weave at each end of the towel, 20 picks per inch for the cottolin weft and 34 picks per inch for the sewing thread.
