It kind of looks like it was spun with cat hair because of the angora. I didn't notice it while I was converting the first skein to a ball, but it was very noticeable once I started knitting and I blamed my Siamese cat. By the 2nd skein, I realized it wasnt his fault.

I recommend using circular needles, even if you are knitting flat pieces, because it is quite slippery and if you are knitting and travelling, it's likely to slip off the needles.

I am knitting the Berocco Panamint shell in Isla Del Sol colour, which is about 2x darker than pictured.

I am working on a top down tee. The yarn feels good, but I am having trouble keeping a consistent gauge. I keep moving up a one needle size since I started the knitting, even though I did made a good swatch before I started. I am not sure this would work for cables, since I am not seeing much definition. Since it is a chainette, it is a good idea to knot the tip of the working strand so it does not ravel with handling.. I think it will be very soft and comfortable to wear. I think this yarn might make great camisoles for wear under winter weight garments also.

Comments about Berroco Maya:

Loved working with this yarn. I both crocheted and knitted with it, and found it soft and easy to work with. For crochet, I did some cable work that turned great (not too bulky). The stitch definition in both knitting and crochet is great! I plan to order more of this yarn soon.

          Comments about Berroco Maya:

Currently working on a baby blanket and this cotton is light, bouncy and soft to the touch. Has wonderful gauge and will be using again to substitute for a very expensive chained summer linen yarn.

I am making a shawl with this yarn in three colors, not sure if 3 skeins will be enough. The pattern calls for a different yarn, 2 skeins each of 3 colors. So far it is looking very nice.

I would use this for the projects listed. My biggest problem was the yarn splitting, but, that is a minor problem. The hat I made blocked nicely.
