Bad Cat Designs The Diwali Shawl
Named after the Indian Diwali festival, the word comes from Sanskrit and is translated as "row of lights." The Diwali festival includes lighting small clay lamps, with the beads glowing as little flames. This project is for the intermediate lace knitter who enjoys working from charts. Special elements include twisted stitches and optional beads.
Finished size: 64" across the top and 33" deep.
Yarn: 2 skeins Jade Sapphire 2-ply Mongolian Cashmere in Papricash
Needles: US 4, 32" circular
Gauge: 5 sts = 1" on US 4
Beads: 10 grams of Japanese 8/0 seed beads, 5 grams of Czech 5/0 seed beads, a crochet hook to fit the beads.
