Comments about Great Adirondack Petite Silk Noir:
I bought two hanks of this yarn with color hydrangea. Only used the manual ball winder with the yarn draped over my knees, but I did not have problems with yarn breaking with either hank. I encountered one knot less than 10 yds into my first hank, thinking 'oh boy, here we come.' But there were only two more knots into the whole hank. Overall, I have to say I like the colorway a lot.
Comments about Great Adirondack Petite Silk Noir:
I a afraid to knit with this yarn. It breaks if you look at it the wrong way. I started to wind it from my swift onto my manual ball winder. The yarn broke every few yards. I then loosened the swift as much as I could without the yarn falling off, but it still broke. I took it off the swift and started to wind it by hand wile a friend held it, and, you guessed it, it still broke. On a positive note, it only had one knot in the hank. The color is absolutely stunning and that is why I gave it 2 stars.
Comments about Great Adirondack Petite Silk Noir:
I can't believe how many knots are in this gorgeous rough silk yarn. I've only done 2" of the sleeve of a baby sweater and have found 3 knots already. But I do love the texture - and to carry this along with another, brightly-colored, shiny silk (like Valley Yarns 20/2) makes a stunning color play that shimmers without being overpoweringly shiny.
