Cascade Tivoli is a soft blend of wool and silk - it's a tweed with just the subtlest hint of sheen from the silk fibers. This is a bulky yarn, so it works up fast into beautiful fabric. Made in China

Given that the yarn is made of wool and silk, I expected to see more shine, but it wasn't. The tweed color was beautiful. When I first handled it, I thought uh-oh. The yarn was so dense that it felt like rope. It felt like I was knitting rope, too. I made a scarf as a present for Christmas so I didn't have time to ship it back and get something else. Turns out that was a good thing. Once I washed it, it softened up substantially! Due to an accident, I had to wash it twice, and it became even softer after the second washing. I said this yarn was deceptive because I believe this yarn will just get softer every time it's washed. I was pretty nervous when I first received it, though!

After buying 3 skeins to use for a project, I ended up with a bag of little balls after I cut out knots. Its so very irritating and, in my opinion, unneccesary to produce skeins with knots. Whether the yarn wears well or is fun to knit is a side note at this point. There are many other lovely yarns that come without knots so I'll be looking elsewhere for this type of yarn in the future.

        Comments about true Tivoli:

I made a shawl with this that was supposed to be snuggly. This yarn was not so snuggly to start with. As I worked it more the stiffness worked out of it. It will never be as soft as rabbit fur, but I was pleased with the final results!

I bought this yarn to knit a hat on a round loom.
It's not as a bulky as one might think. I would considered it as worsted, you can use a 6.5 mm needle, but nothing above that... so, for loom knitting this is not good at all.
No elasticity and although as a good silk content is very hard to work with.
It might work OK for a crochet project...
                Does not worth the price.

                Comments about true Tivoli:

This yarn was made up of 80% wool and 20% silk and I was expecting a softer feel to it. It had random "flecks" in it that did not appear to be wool or silk and were of a different color. There were several knots in the skeins.
