I made a beautiful raglan cowl neck sweater and also a large scarf. The sweater pills so much under the arms that I am pulling off ropes of yarn after wearing. And the scarf cannot be worn with a black wool coat because of the shedding. Only with a down jacket. Too bad because they are both so light and warm and gorgeous.

I make granny square Aphagan. The weight of the alpaca makes the blanket so luxurious.

Comments about 8.99 Pure Alpaca Paints:

I have made two small test projects (hat and cowl in pumpkin mix) and I love this yarn. I have three hanks left, but am ordering several more pumpkin, and also sky mix and moss mix today. Soft, consistent hand, gorgeous color, light but warm. It wound off the hank easily, has surprisingly crisp stitch definition for a variegated, plied yarn.

Comments about 8.99 Pure Alpaca Paints:

I normally do not buy expensive yarns, or those that require hand washing, but for my purpose this caught my eye and touch when I saw it at Webs. The colors work up to be such a New England fall look, that it helps remind me we are just a bit away from fall.

This is for a wonderful woman who is currently undergoing treatment for Leukemia. The color for that cancer is orange (all cancers have their own colors). I wanted to do something in orange, but not horribly "orange". This does the trick. It is soft, warm, and doubled up, will make a chemo cap that will help her through the nights.

There were no faults in winding the yarn, no knots or gaps. I'm going to order some for me to work on as soon as I finish these items. It's worth it's weight in happiness.

I made a crocodile stitch scarf with the Seagrass, which is no longer available. It is a beautiful, soft scarf with great colors and a wonderful texture. I have some of the brown mix in my yarn stash that I will make a shawl with. I love this yarn!

Comments about 8.99 Pure Alpaca Paints:

I ordered 3 thanks of Pumpkin Mix to crochet a wrap for a customer. She requested this yarn because it was said to be particularly soft. I had never used this yarn before. I noticed a lot of hair in the yarn. I realize it's created from alpaca hair, but I don't like the hair in the yarn. It is a soft yarn, and I found it a bit hard to work with. I would not spend my own money on this yarn.
