Serenity DK from Zen Yarn Garden is a lush, soft 2 ply yarn that's a joy to touch. Made of superwash merino with a bit of cashmere, Serenity DK is dyed in rich, deep colorways that have an almost pearly glow. Several of these colorways are unique and dyed exclusively for WEBS, and are marked "exclusive"! Knit or crochet deliciously touchable sweaters and accessories with Serenity DK.

Note: Zen Yarn Garden recently changed their yarn base. As a result, new skeins of the color "Flamingo" may be darker than older skeins.

Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations in colors that are natural and may vary from skein to skein. There may be differences between pictures shown and the yarn you receive. To ensure the best results for your project:

  • Buy enough yarn for your entire project at one time.
  • When using hand-dyed yarn in your project work two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect.

If you have any concerns about your hand-dyed yarn, please contact Customer Service for assistance in returning or exchanging your yarn.

I made my first shawl with this yarn. It was easy to work with and handled a lot of frogging with no splitting. The 10% of cashmere makes it nice and soft but not mushy. It shows the stitches well. The color is a bit off from the website, but that's pretty common. I got the Silversmith color and it has more green in it than I expected, but it's beautiful nonetheless. My next project will be a cardigan - I just have to save up for it first:)

This was my first try with Serenity DK. I must have picked up a skein with unusual flaws, as I had to cut the yarn in four places to remove knots, lumps of extra fiber, and a break of one ply. I want to love the soft, beautiful yarn but cannot recommend it.

Comments about ZEN YARN GARDEN Serenity DK:

This is tricky because I'm a fan of Zen Yarn Garden Serenity DK. Photos here are not dependable, however. I knit almost exclusively with hand dyed yarns and I'm accustomed the skein variance. But.... I purchased two skeins of Sea Petal. The dye colors used are the same as pictured, but the color distribution in the skeins I received is radically different. The photo shows this colorway to be light, airy, and open with isolated colors, and that's why I ordered them. Both skeins I received are visually dark, somber, and heavy from the colors being deeply blended (more like "Huggie Bear"). Unfortunately, since this is a custom color for Webs, there's no way to compare Webs' photos with other sites before purchase. I'll look for another use for these skeins, or donate them, but they cannot work for the project I had intended.

It's So Silky

Pros

  • Almost Iridescent
  • Knits Beautifully
  • Saturated color
  • Silky

Cons

  • A Tiny Bit "rustic"

Comments about ZEN YARN GARDEN Serenity DK:

This is the most beautiful yarn. Even though it has no silk in it, it has that silky sheen, is incredibly soft, and the color I chose is so saturated. French Vanilla -- it really does remind me of ice cream. I purchased this to make a gift but would love to buy more to make something for myself.

    Service and delivery comments:

Everything about service and delivery was great -- in fact, my yarn arrived amazingly fast. Thank you!

Comments about ZEN YARN GARDEN Serenity DK:

In the hank, this yarn is gorgeous. Then I knitted a swatch in preparation for knitting a shawl. I could have swooned at how beautiful this worked up, flowing through my fingers, knitting quickly and evenly showing great stitch definition. It absolutely glowed so that I had to double check the label for silk content (no silk). I love, love this yarn.

    Service and delivery comments:

Webs is absolutely the best you could hope for. Thanks for the great service!

Comments about ZEN YARN GARDEN Serenity DK:

My daughter, 12, can't tolerate wool next to the skin. She's not allergic, just sensitive! I picked out the wool based on the fibre content and the beautiful dyes, and my daughter picked the colour. It actually glows...soft and pearly. Beautiful stitch definition - shows up lace patterns just lovely. I do find a loose thread now and again (like one of the plies is broken halfway through - doesn't happen in every skein) but overall, the quality is excellent.
