Valley Yarns Knitting & Crochet Patterns Errata

While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of our Valley Yarns knitting and crochet patterns, the occasional error is inevitable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Below you will find a list of errata from our Valley Yarns patterns. (Note: This page only lists errata discovered after 2/13/12.) 

Valley Yarns 517 Blue Mist Cardigan
In the Neckband section, Row 6 should read:
Row 6: K1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, *p1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk; rep from *, k1.

Valley Yarns 516 Firedance Cardigan
Front Edging:
With smaller needles and RS of front facing you, pick up and knit 1 st for every 2 rows evenly along right front edge, then 1 st in every st along back neck, then 1 st for every 2 rows evenly along left front edge, adjusting the number of sts if necessary to achieve a flat edging.
Knit 1 row.
Next row (RS): Knit for 13 (13.75, 13.75, 14.5, 14.5)”, BO 4 sts for buttonhole, k to end.
Next row: K to bound off sts, CO 4 sts and k to end.
Knit 3 rows and bind off.
Weave in all loose ends and sew button to correspond to buttonhole.

Valley Yarns 489 Camel Cape
The yoke directions should read:
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until there are 30 sts in each front section, 38 sts in each shoulder section and 58 sts in the back section. 198 sts total (including the 4 sts between markers)
Continuing to work in stitch pattern, repeat rows 3 and 4 without the kfb at beg and end of the increase row 0 (3, 5, 9) times. 198 (222, 238, 270) sts.

Valley Yarns 487 Dappled Shawlette
After Row 6 of the Eyelet Section, the pattern should read:
Rep Rows 1-6 for a total of 14 repeats: 223 sts on needle. Knit one row, dec 1 st to 222 sts and remove markers as you come to them.
"Rep these 8 rows a total of 35 times for edging" should read:
"Rep these 8 rows until all shawl sts have been worked."

Valley Yarns 480 Proclus Vest
Finishing: Sew shoulder and side seams. Join yarn to bottom right front edge, sc along right front edge, around neckline and back down left front edge, fasten off. Join yarn at underarm seam, sc around armhole, repeat for other arm. Weave in ends.

Valley Yarns 460 Hyannis Cardigan
Finishing: Attach buttons to match buttonholes. Graft underarm sts closed with Kitchener stitch. Sew in all loose ends and block.
Collar directions now read: With smaller needles and RS facing, starting at the beginning of the neck shaping, pick up and knit 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts up the right neck edge, knit across the remaining yoke sts, then, pick up and knit 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts down the left neck edge. 44 (44, 48, 48, 52, 52) sts. Work even in ribbing for 4” and bind off.

Rows 4 - 19: Repeat Row 3. Place markers in first and last ch4 sps of Row 19. Fasten off. (97ch4 sps)
Row 1 of Berry Edging now reads:

Special stitches now include the directions: 
Picot: ch3, sl st to the side of the dc at base of ch

On the Back, the directions: “Repeat rows 12 and 13 three more times” should read: "Repeat rows 12 and 13 three more times, then work row 12 once more."
In the Special Stitches section: "make bobble: (k, p, k, p) into next st, slip 4th, 3rd, 2nd st over first st. 1 st remains." should read: "make bobble: (k, p, k, p) into next st, slip these 4 sts back to the left needle, k4, slip 4th, 3rd, 2nd st over first st. 1 st remains."

Valley Yarns 453 Bumblebee Set
The hat directions now read:
Change to largest needles and yellow. Purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl 1 row.
Row 1 (RS): P1, * LC, RC; rep from *, p1.
Row 2 and all WS rows: K1, p to last 2 sts, k1.
Rows 3 and 7: P1, k to last 2 sts, p1.
Row 5: P1, * RC, LC; rep from *, p1.
Row 8: As Row 2.
Repeat rows 1-8 for pattern.

Bumblebee Blanket stitch pattern should be a multiple of 8 sts + 4.
Cast on numbers for the blanket should be 156 (180, 204) sts.
